Our BackgroundTip-Top Resort has been family owned and operated by the Schultz family for over 50 years, accommodating our first visitors back in 1956. Elmer and Luella Schultz purchased the resort in 1956; but it had been in operation sometime before that. Starting out as farmers in Seward, Nebraska the couple had vacationed in Minnesota and fell in love with the state, giving them the idea to purchase a resort.
Making the move to Minnesota with three young children, the family knew no one. After meeting the owners of another local resort, they were quickly shown the ins and outs of resort ownership and operation. In 1957 Elmer started his own construction company to provide some income for the family during the resorts off-season.
The Schultz’s children and now grandchildren have been assisting in running and maintaining the resort since they were young. Tip-Top Resort is still family owned and operated; the Schultz family has had and will continue to create wonderful memories for themselves and their visitors.
